Very fine quality, ornate pistol of large size and with extra coverage engraving. 17” o/a with 9 ½” .60 caliber barrel with maker’s penzone stamped “CAB/ANA” in gold within as well as a barrel maker’s proof mark. Nicely articulated lock with all the original lock parts and screws. Carved fruitwood stock with nice relief work about the lock and tang. Heavily engraved brass mounts with extra ornate “STANDS OF FLAGS” on the sides of the pommel caps. Very good plus overall with nice metal patina and stock with all the original finish. Lock in working order but frizzen spring somewhat weak. Original wood horn tipped ram rod. Fine example of the type carried by Spanish Officer’s during the latter 1700’s in California, the Southwest and Florida. SOLD Antique: Yes |
