CONTEMPORARY CARVED FLINTLOCK LONGRIFLE .45CAL FULLSTOCK WITH PATCHBOX BY MERCHANT, WITH ACC. Beautifully finished tiger maple relief carved stock muzzloader with horsehead patchbox. 42" octagonal barrel with top quality sights. Four inlays including escutcheon plate with one lttr engraved owner's last name to whom the longrifle belonged to. Punchwork on toeplate emphasizes hearts as do other inlays as well as brass wire work. Probably never fired more than a handful of times. Included in set is handmade possibles bag with antler powder measure, bullet starter, pick and misc. balls. Also made for this set is a a wonderful carved powderhorn and rifle slip of the same buckskin as bag.
