Description:

Here is a fine example of a First Generation Colt Single Action Army. The factory letter states it was a shipment of 1 gun to Shapleigh Hardware in St. Louis on July 18, 1916 and chambered in 38-40 with the popular 4 3/4"barrel. Gun is in beautiful condition having never been touched or cleaned. The barrel retains almost all of the high luster factory blue on top and right side but thinned on left side. The ejector housing has all the blue on top and silvered on side. Cylinder has about half the blue silvering out with all the fire blue in the flutes. Acton shows at least 30% case colors, esp in recesses. Trigger guard and straps are mostly silvered out with about 20% blue. Original grips fit like a glove and are mint. Most of the screws have all their original fire blue.  Bore is gem mint. It displays nicely in this original walnut display case which also remains in excellent condition,.
