Description:
An American military percussion pistol. Marked U.S. H. Aston on the lock. Also marked " Midd.Tn., Conn. 1849" The barrel, hammer and lock were made in the white and now have the common surface staining. Some pitting around the hammer from firing. The action is very strong. The barrel band,butt and trigger guard are all brass.There are two cartouches on the left side which are light but visible. There is a captive ramrod. The wood is sound with a few dings and a small hole repair in the right grip area which is barely noticeable. The barrel is marked "NWP" near the lock along with a "P". A nice example of a gun used in the Civil War and other actions.
