Browning Pointer Grade factory 12 & 20 gauge 2-bbl set O/U shotgun with factory letter. This is a really nice long tang, round knob example of a 100% original Pointer made 50 years ago. The masterfully engraved game scenes and scroll work are not signed, but that is not unusual for a Pointer or a Pigeon. The 30”,12 gauge barrels have a vent rib and are choked Mod/Full. The 26 1/2”, 20 gauge barrels also have a vent rib and are choked IC/Mod. The barrels have separate forearms. The stock and forearms feature beautifully grained walnut and finely cut checkering. The 50 year old finish is “checking” as do most original Browning finishes of this ear. Special order 14” LOP over original butt plate; 1 3/8” DAC and 2 ¼” DAH with slight ¼” right hand cast. The set comes in the correct vintage Hartmann case. Regarding the finishes; other than the noted wood finish checking the blue on the barrels is 98% + with only marks from the forearm sliding showing wear and the coin finishes are mint. The gun weighs 7 lbs, 7 oz. with the 26 ½” barrels and 2 oz. more with the 30” barrels.
