Description:
This is a very special gun. Rarely do you find a Colt this old with this much original finish. This gun letters as shipped to HD Folsom and Company in Feb 1876. It letters as "Blue". This gun was undoubtedly shipped to HD Folsom and then nickeled by Adams Nickel Plating Company (the same contractor Colt used) for HD Folsom before it ever went for sale. The combination of Nickel, Case Colored hammer, fire blued screws makes for a stunning effect. The action is very good with great timing and lock up (the loading notch is weak-a very cheap fix). The bore is excellent. The nickel is amazing-- there some nickel loss near the muzzle that does not detract from the overall appearance of the Colt. The grips have a small chip and retain almost all of the original varnish. You will not find a Colt this old and this nice for anywhere near the price!
