Description:
S# 137980A, .33 WCF, 23 5/8 inch barrel, bright excellent bore. This 1907 built gun started life as a saddle ring carbine in 45-90. Now it has a late 1930's mail order barrel, half magazine and rifle forend and butstock. This wood fits well and looks good. Forend cap has a sling ring installed and saddle ring and stud are modern replacements. receiver has a shallow hole above ring stud for some kind of receiver sight. A Marbles Double Elevator rear sight and Lyman bead front are now mounted. Receiver retains 70% original blue with honest carry wear. Barrel and mag tube show 85% blue with some deep scratches on mag tube around forend cap. Hammer and lever show strong traces of case colors. Forend cap, crescent butplate and mag tube cap are grey. Wood is sound and it fits remarkably well for replacements. Some extra finish was added long ago. An interesting and well cared for 1886. FFL or C&R
