This flag known as a Good Luck Flag, in Japan known as hinomaru yosegaki and translated in the Japanese language (????????) was a traditional gift for Japanese servicemen deployed during the military campaigns for the Empire of Japan, though most notably during World War II. The flag given to a soldier’s was a national flag signed by friends and family often with short messages wishing the soldier victory, safety, and good luck. This unique flag (measures 28” x 41”) has a large red sun on the front and has Japanese Characteristics and three red stamps in Japanese.
