Description:

Henry Eicholtz Leman made many rifles during his 53 year career, from 1834 until 1887, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  He is best known for his Indian Trade Rifles. This custom reproduction of Henry Leman's Indian Trade Rifle was made by GRRW  (Green River Rifle Works) it is stocked in select curly maple and trimmed in brass furniture. In the 1970's these trade rifles sold for $250.00 and less that 3000 were made before GRRW Closed. That makes this a very rare and collectable rifle.

GRRW had the riflesmith that finished this factory rifle put his name on the left side of the barrel (H. C. Peters). He also put the caliber (.54) and the serial number (LH 001).  The new owner requested that (H. E. Lancaster Pa.) appear on the top flat of the barrel.  This rifle came to me from a private collection and is new unfired. Bore is shiny bright and only the tiniest of handling marks can be found.

This rifle was built in the late 1970's.  The GRRW Leman Indian Rifle pattern was designed by Phil “Blue Jacket” Sanders while he worked for GRRW.
