Description:
SALE PENDING!   The rifle ( S# 201XXX)   has FIVE (5) special order features:  The bore is stone mint.  Lots of good blue and a combination globe front that still has much of the original gold plating.  The tang sight is the rarest of all 1873 tang sights - the model 62B and is in near MINT CONDITION. Almost impossible to find today. When available - I have seen these ultra rare sights sights go for 1000-1200 dollars by themselves. When 73s found on less condition it is not unusual that gun is bought mainly for just the  62B tang sight..    Only one I have owned and  have seen only a couple others in past 30 years  Gun is absolutely unfooled with original. Have Cody letter. Late letters as you probably know - are showing less and less info.   All the address marking are  clear and crisp and barrel edges are sharp.  Wood fit is perfect and there virtually no handling marks. Case colors are virtually gone except for some minor in protected areas. Silvering and some slight gold sheens. All internals are like new - finger lever snaps sharply to tang. Letter shows X wood but it looks more like XX . It is a beautiful old classic!  Pictures say all the rest.   Must keep in mind that fancy wood was more common early on. I guess that fancy wood and cased receiver would make its a semi-deluxe.  Extremely clean gun that showed little use and or good care. Butt plate does show some pitting on tips as if once stood on s damp surface like a rug.   All things considered - I looked at a good many of all the 73 rifles in the marketplace currently. Only place I saw who had cased 73s was - not surprisingly  - Mertz.  I believe it is worth 6500 especially with at LEAST $1500 worth of rare original sights and cleaning rods. I offer a three day inspection and charge only the actual shipping cost. Please phone with any questions or requests 813- 8861235 ( Fl)   Thank you for looking.  This is only a part of my large collection for sale.  Feel free to ask.
