Description:
This is a super example of a A.H. Fox CE grade 12 bore shotgun. This is an early gun, shipped in 1909 per factory letter and shows much much attention to detail. This engraving is still sharp and crisp, far nicer than the vast majority of the CE guns out there. It seems to have been treated to an extra level of embellishment. A pleasure to behold. This gun has generous case color remaining and nearly all of a nice deep rich blue. Operates as crisp & tight as the day it was made. This is an EJECTOR gun. 30" barrels, with fantastic bright bores. Tight sound ribs. This is a heavy set of barrels weighing it at 4 pounds. 2 7/8" chambers. RT .725 bore 34k choke 41k mwt LT .725 bore 41k choke 42k mwt There is a miniscule ding on top of left barrel, doesn't show inside..hardly worth mentioning. This Fox was treated to a super piece of walnut, great tobacco color with wonderful grain and figure. Checkering sharp. No cracks, chips or gouges. Original Fox buttplate. Great dimensions. 1 1/2" DAC 2 3/4" DAH 14" LOP. Non-automatic safety. This is a gun with a heavy feel, weight forward barrels...super for follow thru swing. Top lever still to right.
