It is located on page 40 and can be easily found . Rarely in a BLUE MOON does this type of weapon come up for sale--- Don't let it slip by !!!! This extremely rare J. P. Murray Confederate Cavalry carbine is an excellent example of the arms produced in the Columbus Ga. area under contract to both the Confederate Central government and several states. The carbine is complete and original to include all parts , and although has been produced by using a cut down rifle barrel which according to Dr. Murphy in his book "Confederate Carbines and Musketoons" and referenced on page 137 is correct and acceptable in order to use up any damaged barrels or ones that failed initial proof in the muzzle area it is very apparent it was produced this way. All parts carry a heavy patina and the brass parts have a coppery tint that is very desirable in Confederate arms. The lockplate is typical in not being marked in any way except the interior which also has the serial number stamped inside. This carbine is number "6" and all parts are mated with Arabic numerals and roman numeral assembly numbers on all parts. This wonderful and historic weapon has NEVER been on the open market till now and would make an excellent addition to an advanced collection or if you want just ONE GREAT representative Confederate cavalry weapon for your collection---YOU will never have to upgrade this carbine and might even be impossible to . A complete set of detailed photos is included on an SD card which shows all details of the disassembled weapon. More photos can be requested and all questions answered. Priced at a very reasonable $ 13995.00 or very near offers. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Antique: Yes |
