Sharps Meacham Conversion .40-70 caliber rifle. 30"" octagon heavy barrel. Gun has double set trigger and the action works perfectly. Bore is dark with rifling present. This was a gun that was actually used. Butt stock was checkered at the wrist and is worn. All metal has a brown patina and does have some areas of pitting. These guns were assembled from Civil War carbine frames, were refurbished and had a new replacement factory Sharps barrel added. Mostly were done by E.C. Meacham in St. Louis.
