Description:
18th Century Japanese Matchlock Shinto Period - Approx. 1750 .45 Caliber 37" Barrel 42" OAL Appears to be of "Choushu Tsutsu" pattern, indicating it came from the far end of the main island of Honshu, which was the region of activists in the Meiji Restoration - the unique feature being the barrel that extends beyond the end of stock. Characters on barrel, under stock : " Made by Okuda Kyosuke", "Kencho" (which means a quantity of rolled cylindrical objects, possibly rifle barrels) Tulip muzzle. Stock is of red oak.Condition is Antique, Fine. Bore is not of shooter condition.
