For sale is a really nice Model 1855 Harpers Ferry rifle. The barrel is the correct length at 33" and has an excellent bore. The wood has a nice original rub to it and has never been sanded or cleaned. It is full length and is nor cut under the rear band like so many are. There are several sets of initials carved in various places and were probably done by a bored Confederate while awaiting his next target to pop up. All parts are correct to include the original rod. All the tape primer parts are in the lock and operating. All that is needed for a great display is the correct saber bayonet and scabbard. This nice rifle has a lot of history behind it and has a great feel when held to sight. Priced at $ 4395.00 for a quick sale.
