Description:
This bayonet is marked "U.S." on blade base by shank and shows a tiny "A" on top of socket. This piece remains in excellent condition with over 95% blue finish showing minor storage marks and light edge wear. The scabbard features leather belt loop held by brass US medallion on leather frog. Back on frog is inspector marked 'W.T.C.". Leather shows light cracking with minor surface loss. Scabbard body shows 60% blue with areas fading to brown and some small patches of light pitting. A very good example of the 1873 bayonet.
