Description:
Scarce bolster type conversion with iron ramrod and stirrup assembly added in place of wooden ramrod. All original parts marked with "v" inspector's stamp. Bolster stamped "A.W." - See Flayderman #6A019. Light (early type) lockplate markings. Burl walnut stock with small chip missing on left side at butt cap and another next to trigger guard at end of drilled channel for iron ramrod. Barrel cleaned long ago with light pitting around bolster area, probably when used when in flintlock configuration. All screws and mechanical function in excellent shape. Uses musket nipple. Overall good to very good. Shootable as is. This gun could very well have been converted for the Confederacy by F. Parsignon of Virginia whose 3 faceted bolsters are well known.
