Rare Ithaca Flues Grade 2 12 Gauge Double Shotgun c1922

This shotgun is a rare Ithaca Gun Co. Flues Model Grade 2  12 gauge double barrel shotgun. It is serial # 369777 and was manufactured in 1922; all parts matching numbers. This gun features the full pistol grip buttstock with the Grade 2 checkering pattern, splinter forend, double triggers and brass bead front sight. The barrel flats are stamped [right 0/left 4] for cylinder bore and full choke as well as confirmed by gauge measurements.  The barrels are 30” and the bores are bright with no pitting. There are a few {3} slight dimples in the barrels about 2” to 4" from the muzzle which are barely visible from the inside bore. There are several photos attached of the dimples from the outside of the barrel. They should not affect the shooting and could easily be extruded out by someone with the tools and knowhow. The barrels are stamped LLH on the bottom near the breach which stands for the tube manufacturer, Lochet Habran of Jurille Belgium. The splinter forend has the ebony insert at the end and both the forend metal and wood are stamped with the matching serial # and #2 for the grade. The water table is stamped 369777, PAT’D and a 2 over 12. The receiver has the standard Grade 2 engraving with a leaf pattern and woodcock on the left, quail and leaf pattern on the right and leaf pattern on the trigger plate and guard. The barrels have retained most of the original blue. The top tang under the lever has retained 50% of the original case while the receiver is silvered and grayed as pictured with case colors only in the protected areas. The graining in the buttstock wood is gorgeous and beyond photographic capture. The wood in both stocks are solid with the original checkering, no cracks and minimal handling marks. It has an original black hard rubber pistol grip cap and a vintage Decelerator Recoil Butt Pad. The Length of pull from the front trigger is approx. 14 1/4” while the Drop at comb is 1 7/8” and drop at heel is 2 3/4”. This is a beautiful classic American 12 gauge double barrel shotgun that could be enjoy in the field. A FFL or C&R license is required for transfer and the cost of shipping and insurance is $39.
