Offered is a very nice original example of a seldom seen 1911A1 Colt transition .45 Military pistol. There were only 10,000 of these Colt's produced in 1924. Most were shiped to Springfield Armory. The serial range is 700,000-710,000. This particular example is serial 708737 and it remains in excellent original condition. Correct 1911 slide markings with all the A1 features. Nice clear WTG inspector marking. It does show some light holster wear and some fading to the front grip strap blue. Nice original wood grips and great original slide and frame blue. The barrel is a period Springfield marked replacement with an excellent bore. Otherwise this transition 1911-1911A1 is correct and as produced. Visit: ironmenarms. c o m for additional pictures.
