Description:
Very clean rifle with a lot of character and beautiful bores, and v. good original finishes. Inscribed on the locks and the rib "C Grundig Gunmaker to the Royal Court of Sachs, Dresden" (translated). The silver oval has initials under a crown, and the owner kept a record of his successful hunts by species with brass nails and a silver legend on the buttstock (H for Hirsch (elk) etc.) Built for a royal who kept his gun in good condition as the bores are mint and the gun is tight. Has rebounding hammers, nicely engraved action, single standing leaf, engraved rib and sling swivels. Stock has a cheekpiece and nice figure. The caliber/case is 43 Mauser but the bore is .432 not the standard .446. Regulates nicely with 320 gr Cast Performance .430 FP bullet over 33.5gr 4198, supplied with new custom CH dies and 5 sample CP bullets. No proof marks on gun. 6 3/4lbs, 26" bbls
