*** SOLD *** This handsome Boss back action sidelever hammergun number 3538 was made in 1879 and features rebounding locks and double triggers. It has beautifully figured 30” nitro Damascus barrels with 2-1/2” chambers and is #2 of a pair. *** It is stocked in a nicely figured piece of walnut with a straight grip and splinter forearm. It has very shootable dimensions with a length of pull of 14-1/2” over a 3/4” thick solid rubber recoil pad. The stock has been refinished and the checkering re-cut in the original flat diamond pattern standard at the time of manufacture. There are a few small handling marks. *** The 30” figured Damascus barrels have extractors and were nitro proofed sometime after 1989. They are marked 65mm(2-1/2") for chamber length and 850 BAR. Right barrel is bored 0.746 with a constriction of 0.005 for light Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.018. Left barrel is bored 0.744 and has a constriction of 0.006 for light Improved Cylinder. Minimum wall thickness is 0.017. While the gun is in proof both barrels are below the minimum wall thickness recommended of 0.020 about 8 - 10 inches from the muzzles so sensible pressure loads like RST Shotshells should be used. Overall weight is 7lb 1oz. *** I am required to collect sales tax from NC residents.
