#11007, Holland & Holland, 98 New Bond Street, London; Winners Of All The "Field" Rifle Trials, London 1883: A superb Jones Action Underlever Back-Action Rebounding Hammer 8 Bore Black Powder Express Double Rifle Made 1886 with a 3 1/2" Case and with 24" Damascus steel fully rifled barrels with a rib extension dolls head, Full length rib with 1 standing rear sight, Fold-up night sight, Side clip action body, Percussion style fences, Long extended top strap that goes over the comb, Double triggers with the front articulated, Full length trigger guard tang to a steel engraved grip cap, Extremely solid and sound wood with near exhibition color & contrast with deep browns and black, Shadowline cheekpiece, Sling eyes, Lever release forend, 13 15/16" LOP over a fresh 7/8" Silvers pad, 16 Lbs. 7 Oz., This is a full rifled set of barrels and the bores remain excellent plus and I would put them at 92-95% from the day they were cut, All the screws are in excellent shape and nearly everyone lays north & south including the 6 inside the forend, The barrels lay on the receiver flats and the breech face like the best built bank vault, This piece came to these shores from Rigby in London several years ago, Prior to arriving here it was professionally refinished from stem to stern with fresh case colors in England. The whole is cased in a massive oak & leather trunk that I believe to be original to the gun. The trunk has a lift-out tray with a lot of accessories. There are 8 bores and then there are other 8 bores but one would have to go a fair distance to come up with a more solid gun than this Holland & Holland with barrels that are in superb condition inside and out. Nice stuff here!
