Walther P-38 ~AC42~ "WWII ~ GI Bring Back" ~ 9mm. All serial numbers matching and no import stamps. The left grip panel has been marked (scratched) with... Roper 54th Inf. The Inf (Infantry?) is just to the right of Roper 54th. Sorry, the Inf cannot be seen in the photos, but it is there and can be seen by turning the pistol towards the left so the light picks it up. The right panel isn't as clearly marked, it has what looks to be 2-7-57 and either a J or a P and then im, we're guessing it to be "Jim". Also, but not shown in the photos is the name KEECH scratched into the bottom of the right grip panel. We're guessing the pistol was either used during WWII and or brought back to the states at the end of the war by a soldier with the name of Roper who was in the 54th Infantry, and possibly later handed down to the soldier's son who thought he'd scratch his own name and date on the other grip panel, much like his father had done.
