Winchester Model 55 Slam Fire Single Shot Rifle .22 Caliber S,L,LR 22" Barrel Mfg. from 1956-1961. 45,000 total production. Safety engaged as loading gate is activated, Shell automatically ejects after firing. Firing pin integral with bolt. Condition: Excellent. Wood shows light use, metal shows one area of finish repair to fine pitting. Bore bright and sharp. Nice example of rare .22 Winchester, with a unique mechanism. I've included it in the Model 55 category, even though many have never seen one. It is a Model 55, just not the one we normally think of.
