Description:
Between 1982-1984, Winchester made a total of 1830 combination shotgun/rifles with the rarest combination being the 12 GA. over 5.6 X 57R caliber. Total production was 60 pieces with one Grand European and 59 Super Grade models. The 5.6 X 57 R cartridge was introduced about 1964 in Germany for hunting deer & chamois. Ballistics are similar to the 220 swift with ammunition available from RWS and Hirfenberger. This particular gun is marked "Super Grade" on the top rib. The majority of these arms were sold by Winchester Europe and relatively few imported into the US. Gun particulars are a 12 GA over 5.6 X 57 R with 25" barrels having improved cylinder and full chokes with an ejector in the shotgun barrel. The rifle barrel has an extractor only. The stock is semi-fancy walnut with a rifle type recoil pad, with 14 1/2" pull. Right hand shooters cheek piece and Monte Carlo comb. The frame is etched in a scroll pattern with cross hatched background. The top rib has rifle type open sights and scope mounts that must be removed to fit into the Winchester hard case. Included is the original cardboard box with shotgun and rifle test targets and scope mounts. This is a very scarce piece for the Winchester collector with only 60 pieces or fewer built and very few available in the U.S.A. FFL
