Description:
S# 2397, one inch flare, 4 inch barrel, very good bore. This brass framed flare gun shows "W.W. Greener Birmingham" on left side with '16 date, British proofs and III designation. Right side shows classic greener elephant trade mark and serial number. This is the WW1 used version built from 1910 to 1918 prior to adoption of the flared safety barrel. The brass barrel, frame and gripstraps show a nice dark aged patina. The steel lanyard ring, trigger, hammer, barrel lock and spring have developed a dark grey patina. Grips are sound with typical marks from use, both are numbered to gun on inside. Muzzle area shows small impact marks. A very good example.
