Ser #15639 on frame and BBL.  Standard Beals Markings, “Beals Patent Sept14 1858, manufactured by  Remingtons Ilion New York”, has military inspector’s markings “B” on various parts. These Beals are quite rare (over 122.000 Remington Army’s were made). The bore is shiny with 85% of rifling and very little corrosion; cylinder chambers are clean. Action works well and locks up well when cocked. Metal is blue/brown and uncleaned with a few small dents. Walnut grips fit tightly and are Fine and are a nice grained wood, very small dents on right grip, chips, etc. Overall a nice VG original antique Civil War era Rem. Beals Navy suitable for collector/shooter. (14-89)
