Remington New Model Army Percussion Civil War revolver, 44 cal., 6-shot 8” Bbl. Ser #43655.  Standard Markings, “Patented Sept 14 1858/E Remington & sons Ilion New York, USA/ New Model” are worn off, has military inspector’s markings on various parts. The bore is good with 40-50% of rifling and some corrosion; cylinder chambers are a little dirty. Cylinder pin has been repaired, but works and the repair cannot be seen without disassembling the gun.Action works well and locks up tight when cocked, metal is fairly clean with small light patches of corrosion. Walnut grips fit tightly, have a few dents, etc, have remnants of a cartouche on left side. Overall a good original antique Civil War era Rem. Army suitable for collector/shooter. (14-40)
