Description:

Extremely rare Philadelphia .41 cal pocket Derringer in excellent original condition. The stock is hand checkered with an engraved silver inlay and a 3 inch steel barrel with very clean bore and no pitting. This Derringer is in original collector's grade condition. The top of the barrel and lock plate is stamped with ‘DERINGER PHILADEL’, and a ‘P’ stamped on the side. The trigger guard has a ‘Y’ stamped at the bottom. The Derringer pistol is an iconic pocket pistol designed by Henry Derringer in 1825. It was a true Philadelphia Derringer like this one that gained notoriety as the gun that was used by John Wilkes Booth to assassinate President Abraham Lincoln in 1865. This gun was produced from 1852 through 1868 so it is an antique and does not require shipment to an FFL. A small amount of Philadelphia Derringers were produced and since production ended in 1868, the original pistols are extremely rare. As such, these guns are considered to be collectors’ items. Because of the rarity of the Philadelphia Derringer, they aren’t going to be found in most gun shops, pawn shops, or even gun shows. You can search the internet high and low and you will not likely find another original Derringer in this condition. I am an honest seller who has never disappointed a buyer. This is a rare opportunity to own an iconic historical firearm. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by because it may not come again. Good luck!
