Description:
Serial #144042-S, .22 LR, 6" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1955 manufactured, 2nd Series pistol made at the very tail-end of production just before the introduction of the 3rd Series and has retained 98-99% of the original blue finish with only a small amount of gray fading at the muzzle and along a few of the projecting edges. The breech and slide exhibit light use and there a handful of negligible freckling specks on the heel of the butt around the lanyard cut-out. The checkered, Colt, brown phenolic resin, thumb-rest grips are in fine shape with only some very minor flattening of the points and light handling marks. As is common with many of these early plastic grips, the panels have warped slightly outwards at the top and bottom but this is quite minor. The pistol is housed in its original one-piece woodgrain box (numbered to the gun) which is in fair-good condition; intact but with moderate edge wear and split corners. The lid also has a slightly concave bow in the center. Also included are the original wax paper wrap, bore brush, Colt tool, and Woodsman brochure. This is a great 1950s Colt pistol in fine overall condition. FFL or C&R
