IN SPITE OF THE HEADLINE, THIS IS A 16 GAUGE WITH 2  3/4" CHAMBERS. 28 1/2" O/U matted-solid-rib barrels of Boehler Special steel, with single steel front bead sight, choked modified & improved modified. 14 1/4" pull from articulated front trigger to maker's-logo striated horn buttplate. 1 1/2" - 2 1/2" drop. Trace of cast-off. Figured walnut stock with Deeley-release three-piece forend---the fixed portions of which retained by engraved screws within horn bushings---horn capped pistol grip, beaded pancake cheekpiece, swivels, and point-pattern checkering bordered with carved wheat-kernel pattern---covering the flat sidepanels as well. Anson & Deeley scalloped boxlock action with intercepting sears, double Kersten locks, double Purdey underbites, cocking indicators, long tang triggerguard, fences and toplever engraved in wheat-kernel pattern matching stock carving, and manual top tang safety with S in gold. Finished in polished blue with engraved screws. Weight: 6lbs, 3oz. Proofed January 1946 and still with the Eagle-N proofmark. Little used and 99%blue.
