Beautiful high quality Dutch Horsemans pistol by Haseluyn in Utrecht. Active 1700-1740. Barrel is 12¾” and pistol is 20½” overall. Cock and frizzen are steel, all else is brass. Buttcap has a grotesque mask. Bow of trigger guard has a relief chiseled figure of another mask. Barrel has foliate engraving and a relief chiseled scene of a dolphin with scrolls eliminating from its mouth. Sideplate is pierced and depicts a man (Roman?) in a cart drawn by a horse. A very handsome Dutch flintlock pistol.
