Description:
This hammer gun by British gun maker Isaac Hollis and Sons (Birmingham and London) has 30” fluid-steel, nitro-proofed barrels; 2-3/4” chambers; and open chokes. The barrels are choked SK/IC(.005 and .008).  The wall thickness (top/side/bottom) for the right barrel at 9” from muzzle is 035/.036/.038 and at the middle of the barrel is .035/.035/.035; the left barrel is .035/.034/.034 and .035/.034/.034, respectively. Bores 9” from the breach are .737/.736 respectively, and the muzzle outside diameter is .832/.832 respectively. The lettering on the top of the barrels is crisp, and the bores are bright.  The gun weighs 7 lb 8 oz. The drop at the comb is 1-7/8” and at the heel 2-3/4”. Length of pull is 14”. The butt has steel toe and heel caps, with the serrations between carved into the wood itself. The action has a pleasant pewter grey color and, as seen in the close-up pictures, the lettering and limited engraving is well defined. The side plates do have some pitting and other blemishes, as one would expect of a field gun of this age. The gun locks up tight and on face; the top lever returns to center. The serial number, 113610, matches on all parts. This vintage shotgun has been properly refreshed.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call the seller at 703-625-4830.
The inspection period is 7 days from receipt by buyer. Seller has fired this shotgun on a number of occasions using standard factory 2-3/4” target loads. However, for any vintage shotgun it is recommended that the new owner have it inspected by a professional gunsmith before firing. The gun carries a 30-day warrantee, during which the seller will have any mechanical problems documented by a professional gunsmith repaired or accept the return of the gun and refund the price of the gun and the return shipping cost.
