British Percussion Saddle Ring Carbine.The kind imported by the Confederacy for is cavalry units.Approximately .62 caliber, 21-inch round barrel with blade front sight. Two barrel bands. Breech with British proof marks. Lock is marked: 1862. Rear of lock with crown. Hardwood stock with brass triggerguard and buttplate. Butt with hand-carved initials both sides. Steel ramrod present. Condition: good. Steel with mottled age patina and heavy pitting. Brass has been cleaned. Loss to stock behind hammer. Some surface rust to buttplate screws. Ramrod is present. Action functions with good nipple. Dark bore.
