Description:
19th century Unmarked Customized Half Stock Percussion Rifle. NVSN, .38 caliber, 38-inch heavy octagonal barrel with fixed sights. Blued finish. Lightly scroll-engraved lock. Varnished walnut stock with cheekrest, brass furniture and pewter fore-end cap. Ramrod. Crescent buttplate. Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a plum grey patina with noticeable wear and light pitting. Wood showing light scuffs and scratches. Large bruise to base of fore-end. Action working.Dark bore. I have shot this with 44 gr of BP behind a .38 hollow base wad cutter and it is a tack driver.
