A Hermann H. Heiser #407 Single Loop Steer Head Right Hand Holster with authentic working wear.
Made from premium heavy weight skirting leather and with a century of wear left in it. This single loop Steer Head is very popular with collectors and shooters alike and is very desirable.
You can see it in Packing Iron on Pages 183 and 186 the Hermann H. Heiser Company was noted for producing superior quality Gun Leather from the mid
1800s through the mid 1900s. This number 407 Holster carried a 5 1/2 barreled Colt Single Action.
It has been embellished with spots by its past owner giving it a real Old West feel. For a right hand shooter.
The Steer Head holster design was available through the mid 1930s this holster has the standard H. H. Heiser makers mark logo which would date this rig between 1919 and the mid 1930s.
(Right during the early B Western movie era)
Prior to 1917 or World War one this holster which was the most popular of H. H. Heiser Cowboy Single Loop Designs sold for $1.00 in the good old days. All the stitching is tight.
The gun is not included.
