An 1853 British Pattern Cavalry Trooper's US Civil War era sword. Manufactured in Birmingham, England by R. Mole and Sons. Blade is 35 inches long. Hand guard is 5 1/2 inches long. 40 1/2 inches total length. Single edged fullered blade. The back of the blade is manufactured marked "Mole". Good stamp shows well in the photo. Includes black leather handles with five rivets on each side. The leather shows appropriate age deterioration. Also includes a full-bowl iron guard hilt. The iron guard shows brown patina. The blade has a couple of knicks but overall is in good condition. There is appropriate surface coloration and browning in the blade appropriate with age of sword. No rust. No pitting. There are no British Regimental markings on this sword. These swords were imported by the Confederacy. No scabbard. Sword, guard and handle are very tight. No leather washer. Buyer pays shipping.
