In 1935 Walter Triebel took over the Berlin gunshop of his father-in-law Paul Thom and handed it over in 1969 to his son Klaus (Friedrich Paul) Triebel. The firm was known to make rifles for Vom Hofe who designed special high velocity hunting cartridges in Germany before WWII. The 5,6x61 Vom Hofe Super Express came out in 1937.
