Description:

Fox AE 20 Gauge SxS Shotgun

PHILLY GUN, BUTT PLATE, GREAT DIMENSIONS

General Specs: A.H. Fox, Year 1925, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 1oz, Side by Side
Serial Number: 202210

A.H. Fox 20ga. ejector guns have become the hardest gun to find among American vintage doubles.  All told they only made a bit more than 3200 graded 20 gauge Fox guns, 2450 of those being the lowest grade, the A Grade.   Less than half of the A Grade guns had ejectors, so we have fewer than 1000 guns available on the planet if you want a fine little graded Fox 20 bore.  And today I scanned the internet sites and there are only 2 that I see for sale, one at $14,500!  The point I am making is two fold; first, if you want one you cannot hesitate to move when one comes up for sale; and second, there must be a reason you can't find them.  That reason is that shooter's that finally had the privilege to handle a fine little Fox 20 bore realized there is not a better American small bore available, as McIntosh and Ansley H. Fox himself pointed out.  "The Finest Gun in the World"!  This Fox AE 20ga. sn202210 made in 1925 is in great shape, with factory original parts, 14 1/4" LOP to the original butt plate, 5lbs. 15oz. and balanced right on the hinge pin, great dimensions, excellent screws, just nothing not to like.  Choked just right for upland hunting and the occasional sporting clays, this is a gun that will just keep going up in value as you enjoy its use.  Just consider what a graded 20ga. Parker now sells for (minimum $8500 or so) and you will know where the Fox prices are headed!
