Description:
During the 1950's,  a few M1 Springfields were sold to the Italian government and converted to the .308 Nato round by replacing the barrels with a Beretta made .308 barrel,  a new trigger assembly and a conversion block in receiver.  The receiver is a Springfield #3362633 (1944).  Original stock has eagle and stars cartouche (found on all M1-D sniiper rebuilds 1951-60) and P under wrist.  number 43 painted in white on stock.  Original blued M-84 scope serial number 14714 and original mounts (parkerized) .  Optics are perfect.  Bore is strong and shiny. wood is superb.  Trigger assembly is stamped D28290-BMB.   National match op rod (stamped NM)  is stamped 7790722-RA. Has the M1-D shank.  Cannot find any stamps on barrel.   Bolt is stamped D-28237PB (Beretta).  Magazine block is stamped with C.  Chambers .308 (tested) Great rifle and fairly scarce variation esp in the sniper version.  Lovely untouched condition.
