Chambered for the .44 Evans centerfire round. This is a standard new model rifle It was the only Maine mfg repeating rifle. It also was the largest cartridge capacity holding up to 34 rounds at one time. These New Models were made only from 1877-79. This fine example has the longest made barrel measuring 30" and is round which is far scarcer than the octagon barrels. Excellent wood , never sanded or touched. Receiver retains at least 80% original factory blue starting to plum. Barrel too retains most of the blue finish also starting to plum. Action perfect and really fine bore. Far above the norm.
