*** SOLD *** Very nice 1957 (lever boss code 5I) Savage 99R (serial #757607) in the sought after 250-3000 Savage with 24" barrel and a good bore This 99 was factory drilled & tapped. The stock is capped and hand checkered and starting in 1950 it has the heavier comb with sling eyes attached, but the comb is not grooved. It has the 10 5/8" long forearm without the earlier groove at the front. Also the checkering, starting in 1950, was only on the sides of the foream. All numbers match on the stock, butt plate & forearm. Bluing on this 99 is very good and the wood has a good amount of figure. If you have been waiting for a good looking Savage for your collection or just to take afield, you may have just found it.
