Really high condition and early Type 1 Model 1899-A short rifle mfg in 1903 with earliest barrel stamp in which the caliber, 303 Savage, is printed within the center barrel stamp as well as on breech end of barrel. Model 1899 not stamped anywhere on gun. No Hi Pressure stamp. Only stamp on barrel is earliest Type 1 barrel stamp and caliber at breech. NO stamps on receiver. Factory high polish blue on barrel is 99.9%. Same on receiver, early high polish, thinning a bit on bottom . Varnished straight grip stock is near mint with no cracks or chips. Case colors are brilliant and as new. Non-log serrated steel shotgun butt plate. Sporting rear with dovetailed white bead front. Fire blue screws. As new mint bore. Mint action. Stock numbers match and even the date, 1903 is stamped under the butt plate with some inspector marks as well. One of the best examples of this early gun extant with no flaws or applogies. C&R
