Payment Types Accepted: Postal Money Order Description: Colt Model 1877 (Lightning) for the Serious Collector or Museum Piece (Colt letter of authenticity included). This gun is from my personal collection. The condition rarity of this gun is made rarer by the fact that the factory lettering is etched verses rolled on. According to the previous owner, this Lightning was bought by a great granddad wrapped in an oil rag and put on a shelf and that is where it sat for over 100 years. (I only wish that he hadn’t thrown the box away) I have no way of knowing if the story is true or legend. I tested the action using snap caps - it is tight and true, and I may have added to the existing very light cylinder rings, but the gun does not show any signs that it has ever been fired. The gun sparkles in the sunlight showing its vibrant case colors and its fire blue screws. There is one small area - where the barrel meets the frame - that has lost a bit of its bluing to the expected browning that comes with age. I dare say that you will be delighted as I have been with this gun, and your mates at the gun club will die of envy. Please be advised that the gun is for sale locally and at other venues, so please check with me prior to sending any payment. The price quoted is for the sale of the gun and standard shipping and does not include insurance. Although accurately described above, the gun, for libility purposes, is being sold as an antique non-working gun. Unfortunately because the gun was manufactured in 1903 it Shipment will be to byers FFL, due to the date of manufacture (1903), and he/she will have to send me a copy of their FFL licenses, and agree to accept a shippment from me to include my passport & drivers licenses as proof of identity. The shippment will be via uninsured UPS, unless other shipping arrangements are requested and paid for by the buyer. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
