German P.08 Luger Pistol with Police Academy Markings, serial # 568xx, cal. 9mm, 4" barrel with a very good lightly freckled bore, this sear safety equipped pistol has an unmarked chamber with D.W. M. toggle and commercial crown/N" proofs, metal retains 97-98% of the original rework blue finish that exhibits some mild silvering at the muzzle and along some of the bearing surfaces, additionally, there are a few small impact marks along the bottom surface of the barrel, the trigger, takedown lever, magazine release, and ejector have about 80-85% of the original straw color remaining with the balance having turned to a bright gray color, a large Police marking is present on the front strap: "H.P.49"; and is repeated on the right side of the receiver just behind the barrel breech ("H.P." was the designation for the Senior Service Police Academy), the checkered wooden grips are numbered to a different gun and exhibit light overall wear with flattening of the points on the right panel, less wear and sharper points on the left panel, a single matching numbered wooden base magazine is included, This is an excellent "Rare" Polizei marked Luger and would make a fine addition to a collection. {C&R} Inv.: # 1-1110
