Description:

If you’re looking at this gun – I don’t need to go into Colt or Military history. You already know!
The action on this gun is perfect!
This gun is fully functional.
The barrel of this gun shows faint traces of original blue mixing with a brownish grey patina, some light to moderate scattered erosion and pinprick pitting.
The Barrel address is crisp and reads correctly toward the muzzle.
The cylinder shows about 20-30% of the original cylinder scene “Texas Ranger and Indian Fight Scene”, with some erosion and pinprick pitting.
The Frame, Hammer, and Lever show a natural patina with faint traces of Case Hardening. The back of the Hammer shows signs of cleaning, heating and work at some point.
There exist some storage type mars and scratches. The grips are fair to good with small losses at the toes, even wear at the edges.
All matching serial numbers, including the Ramrod and the Cylinder, the Barrel Lug is not stamped. The Barrel, Receiver and Trigger Guard show inspection marks “A O” as well a K stamped on the Trigger Guard.
The left side of the Receiver is stamped “Colts Patent U.S.”.
Two of the screw-heads on the Receiver show signs of battering, the Hammer screw looks like a later period replacement.
It is obvious this gun has been worked on over the years, but what would you expect – it’s 165 years old.
The interior is very good and all original, the barrel showing strong rifling.
This is a far above average 1st-Model Dragoon out of an old collection.
