Description:
We are offering a preowned International Harvester M1 30-06 Springfield. The M1 Garand was the US standard issue combat rifle of WWII, and the advantages afforded by it's semi automatic operation great contributed to the allied victory on the European front. While many manufacturers produced the M1 Rifle during the height of WWII and the Korean War, few are as desirable as the International Harvester models. Their low production numbers, high quality and a name associated with heavy duty working machines make them extremely collectable. The model that you are on is Korean War era gun, and the serial number, 4455XXX puts it in the 1953-1954 production range.
The rifle is in field used condition. The stock and fore-stock show signs of handling wear including dings and dents; No cracks. Eagle and three stars cartouche still visible on left hand side; “P” mark on pistol grip. The 24” barrel is very good and shows signs of use. Barrel is marked “LMR D6525448”. Muzzle is very good; The bore is beautiful, bright with strong rifling. The receiver appears to be a Springfield Armory receiver that shows minimal wear. Trigger grouping marked with “SA” for Springfield Armory. Action works smoothly.
