Winchester Model 70 pre-64 bolt action rifle chambered in .257 Roberts. Made in 1952 with a ’51 barrel date. This Model 70 has a mirror bright bore with perfect rifling. The barrel retains 95% blue with a little “thinning” and touch-up to the blue forward of the forearm and behind the front sight (but well done), the receiver is about 90% blue with fading on the rear bridge and slight pitting is evident along the edge where the front scope mount was attached. I’m pretty certain that the wood has been refinished but if it has been, then it is the best refinish job that I have ever seen! No sanding marks, checkering is sharp, wood to metal and edges are perfect. The total package is fine Model 70 in a great caliber.
