1880 manufactured Cavalry Standard configuration Colt Single Action Army with 7 1/2" barrel, walnut stocks and chambered in .45 LC.
All serial numbers are matching and the assembly number on the loading gate is correct. Condition is NRA antique Very Good. All lettering is crisp and clear, some blueing remains and the gun is mechanically excellent. It is not a "US" stamped cavalry issue gun.
This Colt revolver is the quintessential collectible from the metallic cartridge era of the American West. It is as iconic and perfect an instrument of dependable engineering as it is a beautiful and historical artifact. It has done the rough and ready work of violence as well as sparked the romantic inspiration of fiction for nearly 150 years and this particular example was shipped from the factory only seven years after production began and is chambered in the most legendary caliber.
