*** SOLD PENDIND FUNDS *** Recently refurbished by Heritage Guns UK this superb and rare sidelever Boss gun was made in 1889 by John Robertson in the very last years before Robertson took over Boss & Co. It incorporates many of the changes that Robertson later introduced once he assumed ownership of Boss. With its Stanton made bar action locks, elegant sidelever, and superb Sumner engraving this gun serial number 4054 is #2 of a pair and represents the early departure from the firm’s preference for back actions and rotary underlevers. *** This Boss was rebarreled in 1931 by the maker and was reproved for 2-3/4” in London in 2013. The barrels are 30” in length with a smooth, concave game type rib. The Right barrel is bored 0.732 and has 0.008 constriction for a Light Improved Cylinder choke. The Left barrel is bored 0.732 with a constriction of 0.025 for an Improved Modified choke. The left barrel was TIG invisibly sleeved prior to being reproofed. Minimum wall thickness for right barrel is 0.024 and for left barrel is 0.033. *** The gun was restocked as some point with highly figured walnut and has been refinished with a traditional hand rubbed linseed oil preparation as used on best guns by one of the top English makers. Stock dimensions are 14-1/2” X 1-3/8” X 2-1/4”. Balances and handles like a dream just as you would expect from a Boss. Perfect for clays or upland game. Bar action sidelever Boss guns are extremely rare. Don’t let this one get away. Gun weighs 6lb 12oz. *** *** I only sell to US residents.
